Cathodic Protection Borehole Program GROUNDWATER PROTECTION NOTICE DRILLING PERMITS FOR CATHODIC PROTECTION BOREHOLES
Pursuant to the Cathodic Protection
Regulations
effective May 14, 2004, an approved drilling permit must be obtained
from the Big Bend Groundwater Management District No. 5 BEFORE a
cathodic protection borehole is drilled and constructed. While reviewing
the cathodic protection rules and regulations prior to application, pay
special attention, as Big Bend GMD #5 has District specific rules and
regulations. For example, the District requires a surface casing to have
a standard dimension ration (SDR) of 21 or less, whereas KCC requires an
SDR of 26 or less. WHEN TO
